Little Fokkers

Starting work on my Dr.Is. I have 3 to do and I'm planning on doing them roughly simultaneously. I have the DML 48 scale one and the 72 scale dual combo from Eduard. I will do the bigger one up as Kemp's 213/17 and the other two as the von Richthofen brothers'.

Eduard effectively gives you the option of 3 of MvR's aircraft, 2 being all red, but I'll be doing the one with red upper wing and rear fuselage. That lets me practice with the "streaking".

I'm not using any aftermarket parts. The kits come with plenty of photo etch. Once the 48 scale Eduard one comes out, I'll probably get a good decal sheet, and get a couple of those. That kit will essentially come with the same marking options as the wee combo.

I have received the "Fokker Set" of acrylics form Misterkit, after swapping out the grey for Jasta 11 yellow for LvR's plane. I think that the streaking may be difficult, becasue these paints are typically pretty thin, which is great for airbrushing, but not so good for brush painting. Mike did, however give me some tips on how to do it. I have a spare Albatros wing to practice on in any case.

As of now, all kits have been primed on the sprue with Tamiya light aircraft grey or primer since I ran out of the grey.

I have seperated the ailerons from the upper wing on the big one, and sanded down the baggy bits on the underside of all wings.
